MONDAY 8th OCTOBER

Ok - so I never added after last Monday - its very difficult to type when you have steam coming out of your ears.

I contacted the Council after the S/M smarmed at me. It was getting passed to someone higher up there as they were concerned with several of the issues I raised in my letter.

Tuesday - 2nd Oct , the girl next door was finally getting her extractor fan resited as it was too close to the boiler. The workman came out and removed it, left it dangling by a live wire and said - nope cant do more I'm not an electrician. Hmmm - so WHY did he remove it then in the first place? He stood on her worktop and to balance himself he held onto the curtain rail - which is now at an angle and the worktop has loosened from the wall. There is a hole straight through the wall to the outside and it is still there! No-one has done anything about it. She got the S/M and he said well I wont be electrocuted will I - now THAT is not the attitude to take is it! She has a little girl of nearly 3 - does he want HER to be frazzled???

I got a call from the chap at the Council who is now dealing with it - poor man was just back that morning from his holidays and had to contend with me. I have told him that I am more than willing to sign a disclaimer for the work to be carried out while I am still living in the house - as I had done over 4 months ago. It also turns out that the comfort house is being used for the other phases so will not be available for nearly a year. And no way am I going to sit about with my life surrounding me in cardboard boxes.

He is ringing me today to organise a time to come and see me face to face - which is what SHOULD have happened months ago - there has been no liason between anyone. He will be coming out to see me today or Wednesday - so stay tuned!

Ideally I would prefer that the Council workmen did the renovations rather than the contractors - to be honest I would feel a lot safer

Deep joy and happiness - next door have got their extractor fan sorted! WOOHOO -
